Our Focus...
Sojourn
Standing Firm in the Lord While We Wait
Being Born as an American comes with a culture and a freedom many long for. Most take pride in the country we live in and even more take advantage of the liberties given. If you ask someone to describe what it means to be an American they will say something about our independence, patriotism, and freedoms to make dreams happen. As a citizen of a country, there are defined cultural norms and liberties you have upon birth. These norms define your daily activities and your lifelong goals. These Norms give freedom but can also add barriers. These are ingrained in you from the moment you take a breath.
What happens when you are born again into the Kingdom of Heaven? What does it look like to walk as citizens from another place in a country you have known and lived in for so long? Do you take on the new identification of your new home or do people still describe you as your native born citizenship? Paul and Peter have both implored christians to imitate them and live as they do. Live as ambassadors of heaven, people in exile, temporary residents, as sojourners standing firm in the Lord.
Join us as we evaluate Philippians and our daily lives. What does it look like to sojourn and wait for our return to our heavenly home?
